Architecture: Tampa Convenant Church
Vitruvius, one of ancient Rome’s most influential architects, conveyed in his manual On Architecture that a building should possess three qualities: (1) commodity, in which people could actively engage in; (2) firmness, in which the integrity of structure performed its duties to shelter; and (3) delight, in which beauty and joy were known.
When it comes to church architecture, these three qualities should not be dismissed, but embraced. One church whose architectural prowess has grasped and actualized these three truths is Tampa Convenant Church in Florida. Designed by Alfonso Architects, this impressive church design embodies an elegant and modern atmosphere, very unique amongst today’s churches.

Remember what Henri Lefebvre wrote in 1978, “Space is never empty; it always embodies a meaning.”
